A “kids movie” from 1993 (set in 1962) about boys playing their favorite game (baseball) in a vacant sandlot. Anyone from my generation or older who has ever, you know, played unorganized street/sandlot baseball with your friends will recognize the charm in this little cult movie immediately, and for those born of the wussified “playdates only” generation should check this flick out too…for a taste of how things USED TO BE.
Anyway, here is perhaps the most iconic scene of the film….also know as, “The Showdown” scene. Giggle along with me and that gosh-darnit loveable quaintness of this moment in time, you’ll be glad you did….
(Before parents started helicoptering everything the F up for their kids! Kids are SUPOSED TO get dirty…and play outside, damnit!! 😛 😉
Yeaaap, my buddies and I pretty much did the same thing once, only with a lot saltier parlay, and nasier “You Mamma” jokes. Heehee. Ah yes, the good old days huh?? 🙂
As always, I welcome all comments…on well…uhh….damn near anything. 😀
Never bobs for weenies using anyone’s toejam…EXCEPT his own,
